Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay Thay champion. She competes currently within the UFC Flyweight division. Valentina is her younger sister and a fellow UFC competitor. Antonina Shevchenko was the first to start fighting sports by becoming an Muay Thai Kickboxer. Shevchenko made her debut at the IFMA World Championship Tournament of 2003. Shevchenko defeated Suzane McKell in the finals by unanimous vote. Antonina was able to continue her professional career after winning a silver and bronze medals in 2007 and 2008 respectively, and a gold medal in the year 2011, as well as the 2016 IFMA amateur Muay thai world champion. Antonia started her professional journey when she was in the year 2003. She has taken home numerous titles including the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championships, the Lion Fight Lightweight Championships and WMC and Phoenix FC World Championships. Antonina was last in action against Isa Tsidblad Keskikangas at the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by an unanimous decision. Antonina shevchenko won her first professional MMA fight in 2002 against Anara bayanova, who was fighting at the KFK Cup of Kyrgystan. She won this fight with a TKO in round 2. Her two subsequent matches were held at the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko dedicated herself to kickboxing as she took a prolonged break from MMA. She was back to fight in 2017 and faced Anissa Hasdaoui. Shevchenko beat Anissa through a unanimous decision, and then defeated Valerie Domergue at Phoenix FC 4. She quit the club in 2018 and joined Dana White's Contender Series in 2018. Shevchenko fought Jaimelene Nievera at Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11. Antonina utilized her fighting abilities in order to TKO Nievera in the clinch with knees and body. In the aftermath of this fight, Antonina received a UFC contract. Antonina Shychenko made her debut in the UFC in the TUF Heavy Hitters finals against Ji Yeon Kim. Shevchenko took the win with a unanimous decision. She losing her following fight to Roxanne Modafferi via split decision. Antonina was able to bounce back from the defeat and beat Lucie Pudddilova on UFC on ESPN Covington-Lawler by rear-naked submission in the second round. The bout earned Antonina the Bonus Fight of the Night. Shevchenko had a 1-2 record over her next three bouts she won against Ariane Lipski and losing to Katlyn Clarkagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina has been defeated recently by Casey O'Neill via TKO at UFC Fight Night Santos-Walker.
